Sony FX6 handheld system: Do I really have to use a V-mount to make short shots?

I am moving to the sony fx6 to do more corporate shows. I adore the internal NDs, and the body is a little bit clumsy without a complete rig in my hands. Would you consider a top handle and side grip to be sufficient or would you want me to mount it full shoulder? I noticed that an otherwise very clean setup on the forum getassist was added with all that weight and I wondered whether all the weight would kill the run and gun feel.
