Nick Cross: Physical Safety Play Adds a New Edge to Washington’s Defense
#1
Nick Cross brings Maryland roots and proven production to the Washington Commanders secondary. A Bowie native who grew up supporting the Burgundy and Gold, Cross returned to the region in 2026 after four seasons with the Indianapolis Colts. He recorded at least 100 tackles in each of his last two seasons in Indianapolis, including 120 tackles and 2.5 sacks in 2025, establishing himself as a physical safety who can make plays near the line of scrimmage.
The Nick Cross Jersey gives Commanders fans a natural way to represent a hometown-connected defender entering a new chapter in Washington. Wearing No. 25, Cross adds experience, tackling ability and versatility to a safety group that also features Quan Martin, Jeremy Reaves and Percy Butler, making him an important piece of the Commanders' defensive identity in 2026.
